Description

The Wharf House and Store Under dates to the late 19th century. It's constructed from granite rubble with a slate roof featuring gable ends. The elevation facing the harbour has two gables, one larger than the other, and is clad in slate. The north elevation has four windows with sash glazing bars. The building is two storeys and an attic in height, with a 3-window arrangement to the harbour-facing elevation. The first floor has modern 3-light casements, while the ground floor features large double doors with fanlights above, and a vehicle entrance to the right. The building served as a dwelling above a ground-floor store. It is included on the list for its group value with several nearby buildings, including Portland House, Trelawny, Mr Gartrell’s Workshop, No. 6, Mr Grenfell's Workshop, Nos 1 to 3 Wharf Cottages, Mrs Wakfer’s Cottage, and the William Fisher Gallery.
