Description

This is an 18th-century barn, likely originally used as a granary above a shippon (cattle shelter). Constructed of granite rubble and killas rubble walls, it has a steeply pitched roof covered in asbestos slate. The barn is rectangular in plan, featuring approximately central opposing first-floor loading and winnowing doorways. The front elevation has a central blocked doorway with a loading doorway positioned above it. An old window opening is visible at first-floor level on the right, with a more recent opening below. The left-hand side of the front is partially obscured by a low, 19th-century two-story building that is built at a right angle. The left-hand end features doorways on both ground and first floors. The rear facade includes slit ventilators at ground floor level. The interior of the barn has not been inspected. The barn is located approximately 30 metres north of Trenethick Barton Farmhouse.
