Description
The garden wall immediately north west of Trenarth Barton is likely from the late 18th century and incorporates some reused materials from the 17th century. It is constructed from slate and granite rubble with granite dressings. The wall is high and encloses three sides of the garden, abutting the north west wing of Trenarth Barton. It features rounded rubble coping with a dripcourse and is ramped up to higher levels due to the sloping ground. On the north side, there is a reused 17th century chamfered granite doorframe. Previously, there were lean-to greenhouses on the inside of the wall. Historian Charles Henderson suggested that the wall was built around the same time as the earlier part of the house.
