5/11 Netherleigh including wall and railings at the front (north)

Small town house. Probably C18, remodelled circa mid C19. Stucco front, otherwise rubble. Asbestos slate roof with projecting eaves at the front. Brick chimneys over the gable ends. Plan: 2 rooms with cross passage between. Exterior : 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window north road front with central doorway and door within doorcase with consoles. 4-pane sashes within stucco surrounds with blocks at meeting rail level and stucco lintels with keyhole-shaped decoration. Rear Interior not inspected. Fronting a shallow depth sunken walk at the front is a granite coped retaining wall surmounted by circa mid-C19 iron railings with round stanchions with square cushion bases and hall finials and 2 holed collars to each for holding the round section rails between. This house adjoins York House qv., one of the oldest buildings in Marazion.
