Description
Bridge House is a house from the mid-18th century, with 19th-century and later alterations and additions. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, with the first floor hung with asbestos slate on the front and right side, and features brick dressings and granite quoins at the ground floor. The roof is hipped with slurried slate and has a brick stack on the left side of the ridge. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance, and the principal rooms are located to the front right and left. There is a 19th-century addition at the rear that is one storey with an attic for service rooms, as well as a single-storey 20th-century addition on the left side.
The house is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window front. The first floor features 12-pane sash windows in exposed boxes, while the ground floor has a central glazed door within a 20th-century glazed porch, flanked by 12-pane sashes with sidelights and cambered heads in brick surrounds on either side. The left side has a single-storey 20th-century rendered addition with two windows and a door. The right side includes an outshut at the rear, which is also one storey with an attic. The interior has not been inspected.
