Description
Castle Horneck is a large house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The main southeast facade is constructed of granite ashlar and features two storeys and a basement. It has five windows, with the central three projecting forward and topped by a pediment. The building has a modillion eaves cornice, sash windows without glazing bars, and keyblocks. The quoins are chamfered. The central doorway is adorned with a rusticated architrave and cornice, and it is bridged over a basement well with iron railings. The roof is slate and hipped. The northeast elevation is stuccoed, also two storeys high, with nine windows, sash windows without glazing bars, and an off-centre Doric open porch that has an open pediment and a panelled roof soffit, along with a semi-circular fanlight and iron railings. The southwest elevation is slate hung.
