Description
This is a mid-19th century town house located on Lower Market Street, Penryn. The original stucco rendering on a rubble core has been replaced with incised render, and features rusticated quoins. The roof is dry Delabole slate, hidden behind a parapet with a moulded cornice, and includes a rendered stack with a similar moulded cornice. The building has a deep plan and is two storeys high, with a single-window front. The windows are mid- to late-19th century or 20th century replacements, featuring four-pane oriels with moulded cornices. A 20th-century shop front occupies part of the ground floor, concealing what may be late-19th century panelled end pilasters and a fascia with a moulded entablature. A doorway on the right of the shop front has a 20th-century glazed door. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century.
