Description

The Budge monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 22 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St Clarus. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed of coursed sandstone with a granite lid that features a slate tablet inset. The tomb has a plain coursed stone chest and a cyma moulded lid. On the top, there is a rectangular tablet with well-crafted lettering and verses dedicated to Joan Budge, dated 1765.
