ST AGNES PORTHTOWAN SW 74 NW 7/188 Porthtowan House GV II

Farmhouse, possibly a former account (count) house associated with Tywarnhaile Mine. Circa 1840s. Killas rubble walls with granite dressings. Dry Delabole slate hipped roof. C20 rebuilt brick chimney over left-hand side. Cast-iron ogee gutters. Plan: Double-depth plan. 2 rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall leading to stair hall between 2 rear service rooms. Service lean-tos slightly set back at either side. Exterior: Symmetrical 3-window front with central doorway. Original 6-panel door with overlight. Original 16-pane hornless sashes. Openings are spanned by granite lintels. Interior not inspected.
