Description

A pair of mid-19th century houses, originally two cottages, now combined into one, along with an adjoining pump. The houses are constructed of rendered and painted stone rubble, with a renewed slate roof featuring hipped ends, extended on the left-hand side. The houses’ plan has been altered; they likely originally comprised two 2-room cottages, with the entrance to the left-hand cottage located on the front elevation and the entrance to the right-hand cottage on the side elevation. The front elevation is regular, with two windows arranged symmetrically. The ground floor has two 19th-century 6-pane sashes flanking a centrally located entrance with a partly glazed late 19th or 20th-century door. To the right, an entrance leads to a brick porch which contains the village water pump, which remains largely intact. The first floor has two 6-pane sashes within raking roof half-dormers. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
