Description
This is a house, likely dating to around 1840, which has been altered and now incorporates a hairdresser's shop. It is built of granite rubble, laid in courses, with granite quoins and an asbestos tile roof. The house has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high, with three bays arranged symmetrically. The central bay features a panelled door, while the windows are 12-pane sashes with exposed boxes and quoined surrounds. The roof is hipped, with projecting eaves, and features side-wall chimneys. Single-storey wings are set back on either side, with the wing on the right now used as a shop. A round-headed stairwindow is located at the rear. Inside, a dogleg staircase has an open string, scrolled brackets, and stick balusters. There are two marble fireplaces with consoles to the mantel shelf. The building was reportedly constructed as a manse for Tuckingmill Wesley Chapel. It forms a group with numbers 21 and 23 to the left and numbers 27 and 29 to the right.
