Description
A pair of semi-detached houses dating from the mid to later 19th century, located in Roskear, near Camborne. The houses were constructed from granite rubble laid in courses, with granite quoins and dressings. Number 29 has been ribbon-pointed, while the sides and rear walls are rendered. The roof is covered with asbestos tiles, and there are rendered brick chimneys.
The houses are arranged with a rectangular double-depth hall-and-adjoining plan, each being single-fronted but with a small side wing. They are two stories high and feature six bays in total: two bays to each house, plus two bays in the recessed central porch. A central, coupled doorway is accessed via a basket-arched recessed porch with splayed voussoirs and a large keystone. The windows are four-pane sashes with exposed boxes and quoined surrounds. The roof is hipped with side-wall chimneys. Small single-storey wings are set back at each end, each containing a door and a window (the window of Number 29 being blocked). The rear wall has a short, carried-down roof. The interior has not been inspected. The houses are situated as a group with numbers 21 and 23, and number 25, to the left.
