Description
St Nicholas's Chapel, located on The Island, dates back to 1587. This small medieval chapel, likely from the 14th century, was destroyed in the late 19th century but has since been restored to resemble its original form as closely as possible. The building is constructed of granite rubble and features a slurried slate roof with gable ends and plain square-headed windows. Although it is not the original structure, it is well situated and provides a good representation of what medieval Cornish chapels were like. The interior has been renovated to reflect the character of a traditional Cornish chapel.
