Description

Botallack Manor House is a 17th-century building constructed of uncoursed granite rubble, featuring an L-shaped plan. The facade has two storeys and four windows, with small, widely spaced 19th-century double-hung sashes that lack glazing bars. The entrance porch is notable for its sides, which are formed by single upright slabs of granite, each approximately 7 feet by 5 feet and 6 inches thick. A date stone on the building indicates the year 1665. At the rear, there is a small gabled projection that houses the staircase, located centrally in the main block. The house has two large granite chimney stacks with moulded caps, along with three later brick stacks. The roof is slate, featuring low gable parapets with volute kneelers. Botallack Manor House and its outbuildings to the north form a cohesive group.
