Description
The Crowns Engine Houses, built in the 19th century, are currently disused and have been since 1914. The structures are roofless and constructed of granite, situated dramatically on rocks at the foot of a cliff. They stand two to three storeys high, with the lower level featuring a circular internal flue made of granite, while the upper stage is built of brick. The openings in the buildings have both granite and timber lintels. Notably, part of one wall of the lower engine house has collapsed.
