Description
The Cargodna Pumping House, located at West Wheal Owles, is an engine house built around 1870. It features walls made of granite rubble, with dressed granite quoins and voussoirs framing the arch of the plug door. The building has a rectangular plan measuring 8.1 by 5.8 metres. Granite lintels are present over the window openings on each side, and the arched cylinder door head is constructed from three courses of header bond brick. A chimney made of granite rubble is located in the rear corner, with a brick upper section and a brick drip ring.
