Description
The former miner's dry, located to the northwest of the Wheal Drea Pumping Engine House, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble brought to course and features a hipped scantle slate roof with ridge tiles that serve as vents. The building has a rectangular plan and is one storey high. The northwest elevation includes a mid-20th century concrete block extension at the southern end. It has late 19th and early 20th century horned sashes in three window openings under the eaves, with the leftmost window being smaller, and a doorway to the right. The interior has not been inspected. This structure is a very rare example of its type to have survived from a former tin mine.
