Description

The Old Standard is probably an early 17th-century building in granite rubble. It has a steep, slurried slate roof with gable ends. The building is two storeys high and originally had three windows. The windows retain granite mullions, although most have been removed, alongside moulded jambs, lintels, and dripmoulds; they now house modern wood-framed casements with glazing bars. There are two ground-floor doorways with similar moulded jambs and lintels, as well as dripmoulds. The building is characterised by two granite chimney stacks, each with a moulded bell-top. The Old Standard forms a group with Nos 2, 5, 7, 8, and 13.
