Description

Fairmaids Cottage is likely late 18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with a slate roof featuring gabled and half-hipped ends. The building is a long, single-range structure with five windows on each floor. The windows are modern sashes, lacking original glazing bars. Two external flights of steps, each with simple iron railings, lead to the first-floor doorways. The cottage is included on the heritage register for its group value, forming part of a group with Commander England Ltd and Stella-Maris on Grenfell Street.
