Description

This is part of a 16th-century manor house. It is constructed from granite, with coursed rubble and ashlar detailing, and has slate roofs. The building has two storeys and five windows. The ground floor features stone mullions with moulded jambs and lintels, and dripmouldings; the windows are modern casements containing glazing bars. A wide doorway leads to Keigwin, with stopped chamfered jambs and a moulded lintel. Above the doorway is a large, open, square porch with a gable-ended room supported by four granite columns, which are square, scribed, and have cushion heads, necks, and bases. To the left is a stuccoed, projecting gabled wing, belonging to Little Keigwin. Inside Little Keigwin, a coved ceiling is present in a first-floor room, along with a 17th-century granite fireplace and panelling in the room above the porch. The interior of Keigwin features two simple 17th-century granite fireplaces with stopped chamfered jambs; the first-floor fireplace has four small carved square panels in the frieze. The building is topped by granite chimney stacks with moulded bell tops. The Old Standard and numbers 2, 5, 7, 8, and 13 form a group.
