Description
Manor House in Ayr dates back to 1587 and is a 17th-century building that has been restored. It is constructed of coursed granite rubble and features two storeys with three windows on the upper floor, and one ground floor window that has a label mould. The remaining windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The doorway is adorned with moulded jambs and a lintel, also featuring a label mould. Above the entrance, there is a small staircase gable topped with a finial. The roof is slate, and at the centre of the ridge, there is a small figure of a knight on horseback. The house has two granite chimney stacks with moulded caps. At the rear, there is a small two-storey projection that includes a low ornamental chimney stack and small mullioned windows.
