Description

Crelly House is a farmhouse dating to the mid-19th century, accompanied by garden walls and gate piers. Constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and covered by a slurried scantle slate hipped roof, it incorporates cast-iron ogee section gutters. The building follows a double depth plan, comprising two equal-sized rooms at the front, flanking a central entrance hall. This leads to a stair hall situated between two service rooms. The south front presents a symmetrical facade with three windows and a central doorway. Original features include a six-panel door, with the top panels later glazed, and a fanlight. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes, with original sashes also present at the rear, including a round-headed stair window. The interior remains largely unaltered and complete, although it has not been inspected. Painted rubble garden walls adjoin the house on both the front and rear, enclosing a rectangular garden. A gateway, aligned with the front doorway and featuring concave quadrant-on-plan side walls and round-headed granite monolithic piers, provides access; the gate is a 20th-century replacement.
