Description
The Bullmore and Porleouse tombs are located approximately 15 metres north of the east end of the Church of St Budock. These two chest tombs date from the early to mid 19th century. The larger tomb is dedicated to William Bullmore Esq of Dunstanville Terrace in Falmouth, who died in 1844 at the age of 74, and his wife Mary, who died in 1859 at the age of 85. The other tomb belongs to Nancy Pender, the wife of James Porleouse of Falmouth, who died in 1831. The Bullmore tomb is made of dressed freestone and stands on a base of granite flags, featuring engaged corner shafts. The Porleouse tomb has a moulded freestone lid with an inscribed slate over rendered sides. Both tombs are rectangular in shape.
