Description

24 Lower Fore Street is a mid-19th century remodelling of a late 18th century house. The building has two and a half storeys above a basement and is rendered with applied wood to simulate timber-framing, although it is partly timber-framed beneath the render. It features a hipped mansard tiled roof with one hipped dormer and a modillion eaves cornice. There is a two-storey angled bay with large modern catchment windows. To the right, there is a door framed by fluted Doric pilasters and a frieze, topped with a modern gable. The door is panelled with reveals. There is also a recent extension to the rear.
