Description
The lettered stone, likely dating from the 19th century, is situated on the north bank of the Red River. Made of granite, it features a very short round-headed post with incised letters on its face: "S N I." While the specific history of this stone is not known, it resembles boundary stones that mark mineral rights in the area, similar to those found near former mines, such as the one beside the east engine house of Grenville United Mine on Newton Road in Troon.
