Description
Churchtown Farmhouse and the garden walls to the front are a farmhouse and garden walls dating from around the mid 19th century. The building is constructed of slate stone rubble, featuring dressed greenstone arches over the openings on the front elevation and brick arches on the rear. It has a slate roof with gable ends and brick end stacks.
The farmhouse has a double depth plan with a central entrance, likely including a wide central through passage. There are two reception rooms at the front, heated by end stacks, and two service rooms at the rear. The exact location of the staircase is uncertain, but it may be in the wide through passage. The building is two storeys tall with a symmetrical three-window front, showcasing 12-pane hornless sash windows with dressed greenstone segmental arches and a 20th-century glazed door in the centre. The rear elevation features brick segmental arches over the openings.
The interior is not accessible for viewing. The garden in front of the farmhouse is enclosed by stone rubble walls. Churchtown Farmhouse is located to the northwest of the Church of St Petroc in the unspoilt village of Trevalga and is adjacent to the higher side of Trevalga Farmhouse.
