Description
North Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge situated approximately 650 metres northwest of Pencalenick House. It is built in a picturesque cottage ornée style. The lodge has rendered walls and a hipped roof thatched with wheat reed. The rectangular plan incorporates an open verandah on three sides. The north front features a two-storey entrance porch with a late 19th-century three-light bay window, having a cornice and crenellated parapet, and an attic window in the gable. There are entrances on each side of the porch. Wide eaves over the verandah are supported by rustic wooden posts with half-round arches over those positioned in front of the windows on either side of the porch. Four linked octagonal rendered brick stacks rise from the middle of the roof. The lodge is included in the listing for its group value.
