Description

Mount Cottage is a village house, probably from the 18th century. It has a rendered exterior, likely over rubble or cob, and features a steep asbestos slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a shallow-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, with a nearly symmetrical front that includes three windows. The mid-19th century windows are hornless sashes with margin panes. There is a full-width lean-to verandah and a central doorway that has a 20th-century door. At the rear, there are attached lean-to outbuildings on two sides of a courtyard. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to retain most of its original structural and architectural features.
