Description

ST COLUMB MAJOR SW 96 SW 7/173 Tregamere Farmhouse - II

Farmhouse. Circa late C18 with additions of mid C19, alterations and additions of C20. Slatestone rubble with brick dressings. Slurried slate roof with ridge tiles, hipped to right and with gable end to left. End stacks and axial stack with brick shafts. Plan: 2-room plan,with central entrance; each room heated from a gable end stack, the stack to left now in an axial position. In circa mid C19 an addition of one-room plan was added at the left end, heated from a gable end stack. C20 2-storey addition at the left end. Exterior: 2 storeys, the original range to the right has a symmetrical 3-window front, all windows early C19 16-pane sashes with brick segmental arches. Ground floor has central C20 door with pitched hood. Granite quoins to left and right and masonry straight joint to left to the C19 addition. This is of 2 bays, with C19 16- pane sashes with brick segmental arches at ground and first floor. 2-storey C20 addition to end left. Right end blind and rendered. Left end pebbledashed with C20 windows. Rear has random C20 fenestration. Interior: Not inspected.
