Description
This is a chimney stack from a former tin mine, possibly Carn Brea Mine, and it is now in a derelict state. It dates from the early 19th century or earlier. The structure is made of uncoursed granite rubble with some brick. It features five short and strongly tapered stages that are set back from one another, topped with a jettied brick cornice at the former upper stage, of which only jagged remains are left. This chimney is one of two of this type listed, the other being the Pednandrea Chimney in Pednandrea, Redruth.
