4/55 Piggery at approx 100m west of Godolphin House

GV II

Mill remodelled as piggery and swill kitchen. C18 or earlier with major alteration circa mid C19. Granite rubble with dressed granite quoins, jambstones and lintels. Grouted scantle slate roof with brick chimney over right hand (east) gable end and 2 louvred pyramid-roofed ridge ventilators spaced equally. Plan : originally a rectangular water-powered grist mill the right hand gable end and part of the back (north) wall adjoining survive form this and indicate 2 builds, perhaps 1 part higher than the other. Remodelled and extended circa mid C19 as a long rectangular piggery with 6 pig pens in the left 2/3rds and a swill kitchen with fireplace in the. right hand part. Single storey. 6 regular doorways to left of the front (south) with wider doorway separated at far right hand end. One of a group of farm buildings relating to each other and Godolphin House (qv).
