Description

Yeolmbridge Mill is a water mill, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with a rag slate roof, featuring hipped ends and a lower slate roof with a gable to the rear wing. The original design included an overshot water wheel at the front, and an entrance through a smaller, later 19th-century wing at the rear.

The overall plan is rectangular. The ground rises towards the rear, resulting in the stone floor being partly below ground level. Remnants of a slate launder for the overshot wheel are visible. The rear two-storey extension features a canted corner on the right. Plank doors are present on the ground and first floors, with a dressed stone arch at the ground-floor entrance and a timber lintel above.

The interior is not accessible, but the three-storey height suggests that the stone and bin floors may remain intact, despite the removal of the original machinery.
