Description
Cott is a house built in the late 19th century, with few later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble with granite dressings and has an asbestos slate roof featuring gable ends and an axial stack with a rubble shaft. The layout includes principal rooms on the front right and left, with the right side having a gabled bay. The entrance is located on the right side, and there is a slightly projecting rear right gabled wing.
The exterior is asymmetrical with two storeys and a two-window front. All windows have 20th-century leaded lights and granite surrounds. The right gabled bay features a three-light casement window with a hood mould on both the ground and first floors, and the gable is adorned with scalloped bargeboards and a finial. To the left, there are two-light windows on both floors, also with hood moulds and scalloped eaves valance. Attached to the left is a small single-storey wing with a 20th-century French window.
The right side includes a gabled porch with a granite lintel over the doorway and similar bargeboards, along with a single light window to the side. The slightly projecting right gabled bay has a two-light window in a plain granite surround on both floors, sharing the same scalloped eaves valance and bargeboards. There is a small 20th-century addition to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
