Description
The White Hart public house is a building that likely dates from the 17th century, with its front rebuilt around the early 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, and was formerly stuccoed at the front, with painted rubble and some cob on the sides and rear. The roof is hipped and covered with grouted scantle slate, featuring wide eaves at the front.
The building has a U-shaped plan, consisting of two rooms at the front: a wide room on the left and a narrow room on the right, with a passage between them leading to a narrow courtyard flanked by two service wings that are at right angles to the front range. The exterior is two storeys high, with a regular three-window south front and a doorway located between the second and right-hand windows. The doorway and right-hand window feature reused 17th-century chamfered lintels. The front also includes a 19th-century panelled door and four-pane horned sash windows. The rear of the building remains unspoiled. The interior has not been inspected.
