Description

Yondertown is an abandoned farmhouse, likely dating from the early 17th century, with a 17th-century outshut at the rear. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. The building has a two-room plan, with each room heated by a gable end stack. There is a central entrance leading to a passage that would have originally had partition walls. The room on the left features a stair tower at the rear. The later outshut is located at the back of the room on the right.

The farmhouse is two storeys tall, with the front wall foundations still visible. The left room contains a gable end fireplace with a flat chamfered granite lintel that has been cut out to form a round arch, along with a single light above featuring a chamfered granite jamb and lintel. There is a blocked window at the rear on the ground floor with a timber lintel. The stair tower at the rear includes a small stair light with a splayed reveal and a stone newel stair. The right room also has a gable end fireplace with a flat chamfered granite lintel, and a doorway at the rear leads to the single-storey outshut, which is built around the base of the stair tower and features a straight joint between the two. The outshut has a wider door on the outer side with granite jambs.
