Description

A freestanding Latin cross, possibly medieval in origin, located 2 meters southeast of the porch of the Church of St Melaine's. The cross features a granite construction, with a shaft and arms that are chamfered and have pyramid stops at the base. The top and arms are made of coarser granite, with a visible joint. It stands on a square plinth that is chamfered and stopped at the corners, with an inscription on the west side that reads, "To him who raised this cross and to all faithful people pardon and peace." The cross has undergone restoration and replacement of its base in the 19th century.
