Description

The Quays at Little Falmouth, Flushing, are 18th-century structures primarily built from vertically-set, slightly battered shale rubble, topped with iron-stapled dressed granite copings. These two roughly rectangular quays extend westward into the Penryn River, with a dock situated between them. It is believed that Dutch engineers were involved in the construction of the earliest examples of this type of quay in the 17th century.
