4/33 Gatepiers and gates at rear entrance to The Manor Office qv. West End

GV II

Gate piers and gates. Circa 1775, probably built for John Blewett. Granite ashlar piers and adjoining walls, wrought-iron gates with cast-iron finials. The gate piers are square on plan and have plinths, moulded cornices to the entablature and acorn finials. The gates are ramped up towards the piers: quatrefoils to the bottom rails andiron- like details to the lock rail and fleurs-de-lys finials over the top rail.
