Description
This listing describes two headstones and a tombchest located 27 meters to the northwest of the tower of the Church of St Merteriana. The monuments date from 1782, 1790, and 1799.
The first headstone commemorates Samuel Rawle, son of William and Margaret, who died in 1790. It is made of slate and features a shaped top with inscriptions in upper and lower case lettering, complete with serifs.
To the northwest is the tombchest of John Panter, who died in 1799, and his wife Margaret, who died in 1802. This is constructed from slate stone rubble and has a rectangular slate lid. The inscription is presented in a nowy-headed panel adorned with two angel heads.
To the west is the headstone of William Panter, who died in 1795, and Elizabeth Panter, who died in 1782. This rectangular slate headstone has been reset and currently lies on its side.
