Description
A group of headstones and a chest tomb from the 18th century are located 2 meters south of the chancel of the Church of Saint Manacca. The group includes two round-headed incised slate monolith headstones dedicated to John Thomas and his mother Mary, who both died in 1759. There are also two square-headed incised slate monolith headstones for Henry, the son of John and Philippa Thomas, who died in 1798, and for James of Helston Francis Boucher, who died in 1793 at the age of 73. The epitaph on Boucher's headstone reads: "Reader pass on freely over my bones Lately trod such monumental stones A few days hence shall others tread on thine So small the difference twixt thy fate and mine." The chest tomb features granite monoliths on each side and has rounded ends.
