Description
19 and 21 Wendron Street are a pair of town houses built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. They feature a granite ashlar front with a plinth, flat arches that have projecting keyblocks, and sill strings. The houses have a grouted scantle slate hipped roof, a brick stack on the right, and cast-iron ogee gutters. There is slate hanging on part of the right-hand end. The buildings have a double-depth plan and rise to three storeys, presenting a symmetrical three-window front with a central pair of doorways. The original windows are hornless sashes with glazing bars on the second floor and in the centre of the first floor, while the rest are later four-pane hornless sashes, except for a 20th-century horned copy on the ground floor right and a partly boarded window on the second floor centre. The door to No. 21 on the left is a 20th-century six-panel door, while No. 19 has a late 19th-century four-panel door, both set in moulded frames with overlights. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
