Saddlers Shop, Carpenters Shop, Forge And Wheelwrights Shop About 10 Metres South East Of The Millers House

The Saddler's Shop, Carpenter's Shop, Forge, and Wheelwright's Shop is located about 10 metres southeast of the Miller's House on the Cotehele estate. This building dates from the mid-19th century and has seen few later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble with brick dressings and features a slate roof that is hipped over the main range, with a gable end on the front wing. The forge has a stack on the left side.

The building has an overall L-plan layout, with the front wing on the left containing the forge. The main range is built into the bank at the rear, housing the saddler's shop and carpenter's shop on the upper level, while the wheelwright's shop is located below.

The exterior is two storeys high. The main range features two round-arched brick openings with double doors, a 10-pane ventilation window to the left with a brick segmental head, and a 2-pane light above in a gabled dormer. The single-storey wing on the left has two doors with upper ventilator sections on the inner side. The gabled end of this wing includes a 5-light window with a round-arched brick opening and ventilation louvres. The left side of the building has a door, while the main range's left side features a 7-light window on both the ground and first floors, along with a gablet with ventilation louvres on the hip of the roof. The right side has a 6-light window on the ground floor and a similar gablet. At the rear, there are doors on both the right and left sides, with double doors at the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
