Description

The building is a Methodist Sunday School, dated 1870, located about 15 metres southeast of the Bible Christian Chapel in St Cleer. It is constructed of slatestone and granite rubble with brick dressings, topped with a slate roof featuring ridge tiles and gable ends. There is a gable end stack with a brick shaft on the left side. The building is partly slate-hung and is built into the bank at the rear.

The plan includes a Sunday School on the first floor and a coach house/stable on the ground floor. An external stair on the right side provides access to the Sunday School. The ground floor features doors at the front, with a room on the left side. Both the ground floor room and the Sunday School are heated by the gable end stack on the left.

The exterior is two storeys high with a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The first floor has three 9-pane lights with round heads and Gothic glazing bars, all with brick surrounds. The ground floor has a 6-pane sash window on the left and double doors with a single door on either side to the right, all featuring plain flat granite lintels. Between the two windows on the left, there is a foundation stone laid by Sarah Daniel in 1870. The right side has an external stair leading to an open porch with a gable end, and an inner plain door. The upper gable end is slate-hung, while the left side is blind and the rear upper level is also slate-hung. The interior has not been inspected.
