Description
No. 23 Lower Park Row is an attached house that has been converted into a shop. It likely dates back to the 16th century but was significantly rebuilt in the mid-20th century. The building features a timber frame with render and a hipped roof covered in pantiles. It has a single-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a one-window range. The house is positioned diagonally to the street, with a right-hand doorway that is at right angles to a three-panel plate-glass shop front. This shop front is located beneath a jettied first floor, which includes a plate-glass sash window in exposed frames and a fascia board. There is also a single first-floor window on the left side. The rear elevation has 20th-century stud work. The interior was largely rebuilt around 1950, and little of the original 16th-century structure remains due to extensive damage during wartime. The building is included for its group value.
