Description
Glenside Hospital Lower Lodge, along with the gate piers and perimeter wall to the south and west, was built around 1861 by Henry Crisp. The structure is made of snecked, squared Pennant rubble with limestone dressings and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has a two-window range. The windows are segmental-arched and have 6/6 sashes. There are dwarf walls topped with spear railings. The entrance piers have tooled half-round caps, and the hospital's perimeter walls are capped with similar stonework. This building is part of the Bristol Lunatic Asylum, now known as Glenside Hospital.
