Description
No. 104 on Princess Victoria Street in Clifton is an attached house built around 1830, possibly designed by Charles Underwood. The building features ashlar stonework with brick party wall stacks, and it has a double-depth plan. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and has a three-window range. Architectural details include pilaster strips, a first-floor sill band, a cornice, and a parapet. The right-hand doorway is adorned with panelled pilasters leading to an entablature and cornice, along with a plate-glass overlight and a six-panel door that has raised upper panels with cut-out corners. The house has 8/8-pane sash windows, with two on the ground floor. The central windows on the upper floors are blind, and the outer first-floor windows feature wrought-iron basket balconies with arched railings. A grille in front of the door provides light to a basement 6/6-pane sash window. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a terrace that includes Nos. 106 and 108, showcasing Underwood's design elements like the tripartite windows.
