Description
Stoke Abbey Farmhouse, dated 1670, is a house located on Parry's Lane in Stoke Bishop, Bristol. The building is roughcast with brick stacks and features a tiled cross-gabled roof. It has a rectangular double-depth plan, standing three storeys high with an attic and a five-window range. The symmetrical front displays paired gables linked by a parapet, with gabled ends. The central entrance has a framed door with a rectangular overlight and a 20th-century porch, along with a notable 10-panel 17th-century door. The windows are 19th-century timber cross-windows with metal casements. Inside, there is a central hall featuring a 19th-century newel stair with turned newels, although much of the interior has 20th-century decoration. The property also includes attached garden walls made of rubble with squared coping, which extend around the front garden and end at a large gate pier with narrow, pointed recesses.
