Description
Number 5 is a house, now used as offices, dating from around 1700. It is constructed of brick with limestone voussoirs, features a timber cornice, brick end stacks, and has a pantile mansard roof. The building has three storeys, a basement, and an attic, with a three-window range. The left-hand doorway is topped with a large shell hood supported by deep volute brackets and contains a 20th-century six-panel door. Below the ground-floor window sills are acanthus consoles, and the lintels have scrolled soffits and rocaille keys, with 20th-century 6/6-pane sashes in flush frames. The upper floors were refenestrated in the mid-19th century, featuring a central 8/8-pane sash with seven stepped voussoirs, and flanking first-floor 6/6-pane sashes with five stepped voussoirs. There is a deep modillion eaves cornice and a hipped dormer. The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes wrought-iron railings and gates to the front area.
