Description
Numbers 1 to 35 (odd) are a terrace of 18 houses located in Hampton Park, Cotham, Bristol, built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with party wall stacks, and the roof is not visible. They follow a double-depth plan and are built in a Late Georgian style. Each house is three storeys high with a basement and has a single-window range. The houses are arranged in pairs, with the fronts recessed between pilasters, and feature a plat band, sill band, frieze, and parapets with blind balustrades. Open porches over paired doorways have square columns, a pediment with acroteria, rectangular overlights with margin bars, and two-panel doors. Steps lead down to the basements from the front areas. The ground floor has plain 8/8-pane sashes. The first-floor windows are tripartite, featuring 6/6-pane sashes flanked by 2/2-pane sashes with panelled mullions. The second floor has 6/6-pane sashes with pilasters. Number 35 has a window in place of the doorway, and a single-storey porch in the right return, featuring Egyptian-style attached columns and a four-panel door. Conservatory windows with blue margin lights are located to the left. The interior has not been inspected. Attached to the front are bud-headed wrought-iron railings and gates.
