GV II House of late C18 date. MATERIALS: The house is constructed of stucco over Pennant rubble with vertically hung clay tiles to the principal elevation and steeply pitched pantile roof. PLAN: It is double depth in plan, of two storeys with attic and three bays. FAÇADE: At ground floor the 4-panel door with overlight is sited at the left hand end beneath a flat canopy on scrolled brackets. To the right are a pair of flush 6/6 sash windows with architrave. At first floor are three sashes. The two attic dormers have casement windows. There are two brick stacks, one to the right gable end and an axial stack. INTERIOR: Not inspected (2006). SUMMARY OF IMPORTANCE: Old Bell Cottage is a good example of a late C18 house. It has good group value with other listed buildings in the locality, including the adjacent C18 house known as Rockfold, and makes a strong contribution to the character of Bell Hill.
